Citroën C4 X is a new model from the French make, and will be price friendly alternative for those looking for a mixture between a large sedan and an SUV. In some countries the model will be sold with a petrol- and diesel engine, but in many other countries it will be available as an EV, the ë-C4 X.
Citroën's C4 X aims to offer an affordable alternative to the classic mid-size sedans and SUVs. The car has an elegant fastback silhouette, many SUV traits and a very spacious boot. Its length of 4.6 metres puts it exactly between the C4 and C5 X. Citroën promises the best leg room in its class, plenty of headroom, optimum all-round visibility and above all a boot capacity of 510 litres, which can be further increased by folding down the rear seats. A storage compartment is provided under the floor for the charging cables and the like.

And you'll need these charging cables, because the C4 X will only be available as an electric ë-C4 X in Belgium, Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, the Nordic countries, Portugal and the UK. The ë-C4 X has a 100 kW (136 hp) and 260 Nm electric motor which drives the front wheels and is also known from other electric Citroëns, Peugeots, DS's and Opels. It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds in Sport mode, while the top speed is 150 km/h.
The lithium-ion battery is 50 kWh and works on 400 volts. The WLTP driving range amounts to up to 360 kilometres in optimal conditions. The battery itself is guaranteed for eight years or 160,000 kilometres. Charging is with direct current at 100 kW (in optimal conditions, the battery can be charged to 80% in 30 minutes). A wallbox at the office or at home, charges the ë-C4 X mono-phasic at 7.4 kW or (optionally) at 11 kW with three-phase current.
New infotainment, high level of comfort
The ë-C4 X is the second Citroën, after the new C5 X, to be equipped with the new MyCitroën Drive Plus infotainment system, which has a ten-inch display that can be personalised with widgets, in the same way as a smartphone.
Citroën would not be Citroën if it didn't provide a remarkable level of comfort. Advanced Comfort seats with a 15 mm layer of special foam and Progressive Hydraulic Cushions suspension, among others, are designed to make the latest Citroën stand out, not just in terms of design, but also in terms of driving comfort.
The ë-C4 X will be built in Spain and be available from 2023.
