Customer testimonial

Supporting technician productivity while lowering fleet costs.

Keeping service teams productive on the road is critical for a leading material‑handling provider, they specialize in comprehensive warehouse solutions and automation systems for the logistics and manufacturing sectors. With technicians travelling long distances every day, the company needs a fleet solution that balances driver comfort, operational efficiency and cost control, without compromising on safety or sustainability.

Ayvens MHC Thailand partnered with the customer to rethink how their service vehicles were configured, financed and operated, delivering a solution that reduced total cost of ownership while significantly improving the day‑to‑day experience for drivers.

The challenge

Technicians complete up multiple jobs a day, often covering more than 300 kilometres. Their vehicles need to enable efficient handling of tools and equipment while offering sufficient comfort and safety during long hours on the road.

At the same time, the business operates in a competitive market with tight margins. Keeping the cost per kilometre low, ensuring high vehicle uptime, and preparing for a future with lower CO₂ emissions were all key priorities. Any change to vehicle specifications also needed to be accepted by drivers, making usability and ergonomics essential.

The Ayvens MHC Thailand approach

Rather than simply replacing like‑for‑like vehicles, Ayvens MHC Thailand worked closely with the customer to challenge the initial specifications and explore better‑suited alternatives. We conducted a detailed, data‑driven comparison across two pick‑up truck brands, assessing technical specifications, usability and total cost of ownership over different lease durations. The solution included:

This consultative approach ensured that decisions were made not only on cost, but also on practicality and driver acceptance.

The outcome

Based on our analysis and recommendation, the customer selected the Mitsubishi Triton, the model with the lowest total cost of ownership and the strongest feedback from drivers. Ayvens MHC Thailand also coordinated with a specialised fitting partner to deliver an optimal box configuration, fully aligned with technicians’ operational needs. The customer opted for a 60‑month lease, with the flexibility to reassess at 48 months for high‑usage drivers, ensuring long‑term cost optimisation without increased risk.

Looking ahead: preparing for electrification

With the fleet optimisation project successfully completed, the customer is now working with Ayvens to take the next step towards electrification. A pilot with electric vans is planned, alongside the installation of fast DC charging infrastructure at the customer’s warehouse, delivered through an Ayvens MHC‑selected partner.

This phased approach will support both lower operating costs in the context of rising diesel prices and measurable CO2 reduction over time.

Ayvens MHC helped us lower our costs while improving vehicle usability for our teams. The vehicles were delivered on time and exactly to specification, and we had strong support throughout the project. Our next focus is electrification, and we look forward to exploring the total cost benefits of electric vans with Ayvens MHC.
