Home charging
All the explanation you need
Home charging
Charging at home conveniently enables you to wake up to a fully charged electric vehicle. But it’s only an option for specific living situations. If home charging is for you, you’ll need to know all about the advantages and costs. You’ll also need to learn about the different types of charging points and how to get, install and manage one of your own.
Home charging station
If possible, we recommend setting up a home charger. Being able to charge your electric vehicle at home helps provide security and ensures that you can start the day with a 100% charged electric vehicle.
Ayvens works with a number of providers of home charging stations, and we will be happy to talk to you about your options and help you get started with the charging solution that suits you best.
The providers Ayvens uses also handle reimbursement of kWh consumption in private homes.
Can I install a home charger?
- I rent a house with parking on private land
Contact your landlord and ask about the possibilities.
- I own a house with parking on private land
No problem! You can arrange for a private charging point suited to your technical specifications.
- I'm part of a homeowners association
You'll probably need to get permission, but it's still a possibility. Several parties are involved, so the process may take a bit longer. Sometimes extra facilities may also be necessary, to enable data exchange with the charging point.
- I own or rent a home with no parking on private land
You can sometimes request a charging point in your area via your municipality. Every municipality deals with this differently. Contact your own municipality to inquire about the possibilities and conditions.
What solutions are available if several cars need to charge in the same household?
At Ayvens, we can help with charging solutions for you and your company car, but if you need a private charging solution alongside the company car, you should research the options available from the individual charging providers yourself.
Charging providers
OK, Norlys, Spirii, CircleK, Shell Recharge, Q8 Charge If you use a charger from a charging provider that Ayvens collaborates with, you can charge two cars. Here, the two cars can share one charger, or an extra charger can be installed. Note: If there are two chargers in the household, they will be connected to a balanced connection, which means that when two electric vehicles charge at the same time, the chargers will distribute the available power to both vehicles. We recommend that if both cars have a greater driving need, have two chargers. To hear more about private subscriptions, contact your charging provider.Clever

What thoughts and considerations should I have before choosing an extra charger? • How much mileage do you need for car number two? • Talk to at least two operators and get advice. • Is there enough power/amps for two charging solutions in the household? (contact your own utility company or local electrician) • A Clever subscription is a flat rate product. Is it the right solution for our driving needs? (typically with a few km. Clever is not the economical solution.) Can you combine charging boxes from different providers? (e.g. Clever and Norlys connected to the same installation) As a rule, not, but if you have enough amps in the household, it may be possible. To find out about these options, contact your local electrician or contact the charging provider you have today for more information.
