Electric vans continue their growth: More than four in ten new vans are now fully electric

Businesses are driving the green transition The figures underline that an increasing number of businesses are choosing electric vans as part of their transport solutions. In total, 5,485 new electric vans were registered during the first half of the year, lifting their market share to 40.5%. By comparison, electric vans accounted for 27.6% of the market during the same period last year.

In June alone, electric vans reached a market share of 47.2%. This means that almost one in every two new vans registered in Denmark during June was electric.

For many businesses, the shift to electric vehicles is not solely about reducing CO₂ emissions. Lower operating costs, access to a growing number of urban areas, and an expanding range of available models are also making electric vans an attractive choice for commercial customers.

Stable van market throughout the first half of the year The van market has remained generally stable throughout the first six months of 2026. In June, 2,866 new vans were registered, which is 1.4% more than in June 2025.

The combination of steady demand and the growing share of electric vehicles indicates that electrification has now become a central part of the development of the van market.
