Purpose of Role:
Delivery of robust financial reporting
Ownership and control of specified areas of the income statement and balance sheet
Analysis and explanation of actual results against historic trends
Key Accountabilities:
Participate in preparation of the monthly management accounts and analysis of key variances against prior periods
Take ownership of accounting for specified areas of the income statement and balance sheet, including posting monthly journals
Develop and maintain clear management information to facilitate robust understanding of trends
Ensure accounting and monthly reporting for areas of responsibility is completed in accordance with group instruction and applicable deadlines
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations as a key control to ensure accuracy of monthly reporting
Support with the external audit and ad hoc project work as required
Skills & Experience Required
Professional accountancy qualification (minimum AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA/CIMA part-qualified)
Proven experience in a Finance role
Competent user of Microsoft Excel (comfortable with pivot tables, nested formulas, key functions including VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, IF, SUMIF, SUMPRODUCT etc.)
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently, asking for support or input from line manager and colleagues wherever required
Experience in communicating with a range of stakeholders
Appetite to further develop technical accounting and industry knowledge
Develops others by sharing own experience and expertise
