We are seeking a talented and motivated Management Accountant to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop their career within a commercially focused and collaborative environment.

Our Finance function plays a critical role in supporting the achievement of the company's strategic objectives through accurate financial reporting, insightful business analysis, effective risk management, and sound financial control. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will contribute to robust decision-making and help drive sustainable business performance.

The Role

As a Management Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering robust financial reporting and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. You will take ownership of specific income statement and balance sheet areas, providing analysis and insight to support business performance and informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, providing clear analysis and commentary on performance against budget, forecast and prior periods.

  • Own accounting and reporting for designated balance sheet and income statement areas, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with Group policies.

  • Post and review monthly journals, accruals and prepayments in line with reporting deadlines.

  • Produce meaningful management information and dashboards that support operational and strategic decision-making.

  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring control accounts are fully supported and reconciled.

  • Partner with budget holders and Finance Business Partners to support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.

  • Support the year-end statutory audit process, responding to auditor queries and providing supporting documentation.

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting efficiency.

  • Contribute to finance transformation initiatives and ad hoc project

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting skills with a proactive and analytical approach.

Essential Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant, or in the final stages of qualification (or equivalent).

  • Experience within a management accounting, financial accounting or commercial finance environment.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups and data analysis.

  • Experience preparing management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Ability to communicate financial information effectively to a range of stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

  • Experience using Power BI or similar reporting and visualisation tools.

  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and planning processes.

  • Experience working within a regulated financial services environment.

  • Exposure to process improvement or finance transformation initiatives
