Ayvens Fleet Support Team delivers a high-quality, customer-focused service while ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient vehicle operations. Key areas of responsibility include: Managing customer queries and complaints professionally, with a strong emphasis on service quality and customer satisfaction. The maintaining of accurate vehicle registration (V5) and registered keeper records is key to ensuring full fleet compliance alongside the processing of fines efficiently, including liability transfer, payment, recharge, and query resolution
We are currently seeking an additional Team Leader to join this successful and operationally crucial function. Ideally you will have proven experience in a team leadership or supervisory role within an operational or fleet environment.
Key Purpose
Put customers at the centre of all activities, continuously looking for ways to improve processes and enhance their experience.
Support and drive change within the department, promoting a culture of engagement, continuous improvement, and adaptability across the team.
Collaborate effectively with internal departments to ensure aligned, efficient, and high‑quality service delivery.
Accountabilities
Deliver team performance targets, effectively planning and prioritising workload, and adapting resources to meet changing operational demands.
Monitor and minimise operational losses, using strong controls, early issue identification, and prompt corrective action.
Lead and develop the Fleet Support team, driving high performance and promoting a positive, accountable, customer-focused culture.
Provide regular coaching and performance reviews, supporting team development, engagement, and future succession.
Set and manage SMART objectives for all team members, regularly reviewing performance, behaviours, and output, and providing clear, timely feedback.
Ensure strong process governance, with all procedures version-controlled, regularly reviewed, and consistently followed.
Maintain full compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal requirements, meeting all deadlines.
Handle escalations and operational issues promptly, implementing preventative actions to improve service and reduce repeat issues.
Oversee key fleet administration activities, including vehicle taxation, V5s, fines, personalised registrations, and MOT compliance.
Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, working collaboratively and taking a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
Support the Fleet Support Manager on projects and initiatives, contributing to continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Skills, Experience & Background
Essential
Proven experience in a team leadership or supervisory role within an operational or fleet environment.
Strong ability to manage performance, including delivering KPIs and SLAs.
Experience planning and prioritising workload in a fast-paced environment.
Good understanding of compliance, governance, and risk management within Operations.
Experience coaching and developing team members to improve performance.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make effective, timely decisions.
Experience working in a fleet or similar operational environment.
Experience managing complex customer requirements and delivering effective solutions.
Desirable
Knowledge of fleet administration processes, such as vehicle taxation, MOTs, V5s, and fines management.
Experience of continuous improvement practices, such as Lean, Six Sigma, or process optimisation.
