Tremendous opportunity to join a thriving head office function where you’ll provide financial insights, analysis and guidance supporting senior management with analysis of the monthly financial result comparing to annual budget and monthly forecast, identifying variances and key risks and opportunities.
Areas of Responsibility
Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of financial data, including but not limited to budgets, forecasts, and financial statements, to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate and timely financial information, collaborating with stakeholders to set financial targets, and monitoring performance against targets.
Development of Financial models.
Performance Monitoring: Using various methods including SAS and Power BI, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to assess performance against objectives and identify areas for improvement.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to senior management and key stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance financial controls, and improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned, providing financial expertise and support as needed.
Competencies
Experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, with some demonstrated experience in financial analysis, budgeting and/or forecasting.
Ability to optimise the use of data from multiple sources and triangulate it into digestible and actionable formats.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
Self starter with the ability to take the initiative and work pro-actively
Planning, prioritising and meeting deadlines in a fast paced and complex environment
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling; experience with Finance accounting systems desired.
Role Requirements
Technical Capabilities:
Expert user of Microsoft Excel (comfortable with pivot tables, nested formulas, key functions including VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, IF, SUMIF, SUMPRODUCT etc.)
Comfortable with manipulating large datasets to create meaningful reports or dashboards, using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI or SAS
A good understanding of Finance Systems
Adaptable:
Can comfortably move from task to task covering different areas of the business
Receptive to ad-hoc data requests from the business, with the ability to resolve and present independently.
Collaboration and Supporting Change:
Works with relevant stakeholders to support the Finance Business Partner and business as a whole with relevant, useful data to help understand any problems and identify opportunities.
Able to constructively challenge financial data and existing processes to help drive efficiencies within the team.
Desired Previous Experience:
Experience of presenting financial data to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Evidence of building relationships across teams.
Solid financial background
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related study for professional qualification (e.g. Part Qual, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
IT Applications:
High level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling
Sound experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
