Exciting Opportunity in Accounting Operations – Bristol Office

Join our dynamic team in Bristol as an Accounts Assistant! This is a fantastic opportunity to ensure the smooth administration of accounting processes while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.

The teams manage the accounting day to day processes including Customer Invoicing, Supplier Management, receipt, and payment processing as well as the controls around these functions including Bank reconciliations and permanent supervision

Key Purpose

  • Analyse various balance sheet and profit & loss accounts to identify anomalies, ensure accuracy and correct treatment of the costs in the management accounts

  • Support Sales teams by preparing accurate billing reports

  • Perform Bank Reconciliations investigating and resolving outstanding queries

  • Quarterly Permanent Supervision Controls for the Department

Primary Responsibilities

  • Completion of daily Bank Reconciliation including end of month reconciliation.

  • Preparation of various billing reports for external clients

  • Reconciliation and analysis of Profit and Loss Accounts

  • Review & validate Credit Note requests to ensure they are valid, coded correctly and approved in line with the Authority Manual.

  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations allocated to the role and aiding cover as and when required.

  • Completion of Quarterly Permanent Supervision Controls

  • Provide assistance and support to the yearly external audit

  • Knowledge expert in Accounting Operations to offer support and guidance to the team and wider business

  

Skills, Experience & Background

  • Previous Experience in Finance/Accounting Operations

  • Qualified / Working towards AAT or equivalent

  • Evidence of strong communication skills both written & verbal

  • Proven ability in working under pressure

  • High Level of numeracy and attention to detail

  • Good standard in IT literacy with particular focus on Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Self-motivated with evidence of strong organisation skills including time management
