We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Risk and Compliance operations, located in Lyde Green, Bristol (BS16 7LB). This role focuses on making sure credit decisions, customer due diligence (CDD), and onboarding processes are completed accurately, consistently, and in line with UK regulations, while delivering a strong customer experience.

You’ll manage the day to day running of the Risk Operations team, covering credit decision making, customer due diligence, and ongoing monitoring. You’ll balance regulatory standards, risk appetite and service levels, while improving efficiency and supporting wider business goals.

The key responsibilities of the role are as follows

  • Lead and support the Risk Operations team, managing performance, conduct and development.
  • Oversee credit decisions and CDD activity, ensuring clear audit trails and adherence to delegated authorities.
  • Plan and manage workflows to meet service levels and future demand.
  • Ensure policies, procedures and controls are followed and kept up to date.
  • Identify and reduce operational and regulatory risk.
  • Improve onboarding and credit processes to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Act as a key point of contact across risk, operations and relationship teams.
  • Support projects and system or process changes with subject‑matter expertise.
  • Deputise for the Head of Risk Operations in meetings, projects and forums.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience leading teams in a risk, compliance or operations environment.
  • Strong planning, prioritisation and delivery against service, quality and productivity targets.
  • Confident communicator, able to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK credit and customer due diligence requirements.
  • Experience identifying, managing and escalating risk appropriately.
  • High attention to detail and confidence handling complex regulatory issues.
  • Background in lending, credit risk, CDD or a similar regulated role.
  • Experience in operational management, forecasting and resource planning.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex information.
