The history of Jaguar Cars Ltd. stretches all the way back to 1922 when a British gentleman named William Lyons first set up shop as the Swallow Sidecar Company. It would eventually produce the first car to bear the big cat moniker in 1935, the ‘SS’ Jaguar 2.5l Saloon. Lyons wanted to create a world-class sports sedan with ‘grace, space, and pace’ and he undoubtedly succeeded. He renamed his company and it quickly became world-famous for its visually stunning and technically ground-breaking Jaguar line. Today, the iconic Jaguar brand is synonymous with luxury and performance.
